EAMCET colleges for EAMCET 2012

The JNT University Hyderabad conducts the Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test every year on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. This exam provides admission to hundreds of aspirants in some of the finest EAMCET colleges and Universities in Andhra Pradesh.

As per the 2012 notification the EAMCET 2012 entrance exam is slated to be conducted on the 12th May, 2012 and the examination committee has already sold thousands of EAMCET 2012 application forms to enthusiastic students hoping to get themselves a place in the EAMCET colleges of their choice.

EAMCET 2012 eligibility criteria (for EAMCET engineering entrance exam)-

All candidates applying for EAMCET 2012 must fulfill a certain eligibility criteria which is listed below -

  • Candidate should be of Indian Origin or an Overseas Citizen of India Card Holder.
  • Candidate should be a citizen of Andhra Pradesh
  • Candidate should have passed class 12 with a Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of choice should have cleared the vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh.
  • If the previous requirement is not met the candidate should then have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P.
  • Candidate should be 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission to any EAMCET College.

Qualifying marks for the EAMCET 2012 -

To clear the EAMCET 2012 engineering entrance exam a candidate is required to achieve a minimum of 25% or 40 out of the total 160 marks. Once the exam is cleared the students then apply to the various EAMCET colleges and as per their rank they get admission into the EAMCET colleges they fit in for.

For the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes there is no minimum percentage fixed for qualifying but their admission is restricted to the availability of seats reserved in their college in the EAMCET college they have applied for.

Criteria of allotting ranks in EAMCET Andhra Pradesh engineering entrance exam -

Candidates who have secured the qualifying marks in the EAMCET 2012 will then be given rankings as per their performance that will decide whether or not they are eligible to apply for certain EAMCET colleges or not.
The EAMCET ranking is allotted on the basis of combined score obtained in the EAMCET 2012 and the qualifying exam namely, the class 12 exam. In evaluating the ranking 75% weightage is given to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weightage is given to the combined marks of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of class 12 or any other qualifying exam.

In case there is a tie after considering the above two scores the relative EAMCET ranks are allotted on the following basis -

  • Considering first the total marks obtained in EAMCET 2012
  • Considering then total marks obtained in EAMCET mathematics.
  • Total marks secured in Physics in EAMCET
  • The aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination
  • Finally, if the tie persists then the date of birth of the two candidates is considered and the elder of the two is given a higher EAMCET rank.

Once the candidate is aware of the EAMCET rank comes the next step of applying to the EAMCET colleges. Each EAMCET Andhra Pradesh college has only a certain number of seats which are available to students on first come basis. The higher the EAMCET rank of a student the more preference he/she is given in the counseling session, getting to choose their college before the others.

    As per your query please note the admission to the college is purely subjective criteria and the decision depends on the particular college. The JNTU, Hyderabad the criteria of admission is based on the admission tests conducted by JNTU. And admission to the MCA program is based on MCAMET.
